The task set was to produce a scene from a short film using a variety of skills including editing: fading in and out, adding non diegetic sound and lighting.
We had a basic shooting schedule to use which was:
1. X walking towards camera.
2. X walking away from camera.
3. X walks to the door and reaches for the handle.
4. Close up of the hand on handle.
5. Long of the door opening and X entering.
6. Match on action as X crosses class and sits at table.
7. Medium over the shoulder shot of Y as X speaks.
8. Medium over the shoulder shots of X as Y speaks.
9. Repeat throughout conversation.
To create our short film we used a digital video camcorder, Canon MD101, and a TP320 tripod. This enabled us to have a smooth professional shot. I was made to stand a certain distance away from the door so that the camera could be placed near the door so that I could walk towards the camera. This worked quite well. The camera was then moved behind me once I got to a certain point then I had to walk to the door. Once I was in the room I had to conduct a short conversation with Shane using over the shoulder shots each time one of us was speaking. The lighting in the room wasn’t very good so when we uploaded the video onto the computer we edited it to make it better. Each of the shots in which we shot we did twice so that we could get it exact.
